to be alive

It is so tender to be alive

To feel so much

We can spend a lifetime trying to escape

The feeling of being human

Seeking spiritual answers, teachers, people, places

That will make it go away, make it better

But this is not Her way

She will bring you down and into the heart

Of the mess and confusion

She will bring you alive through every feeling that enters you

And when you are worn down enough and emptied of your self,

She will crack your heart open

And you will be flooded with compassion

For yourself and every human being who has ever lived

And your tears will do more for you

Then any teaching or text could ever do,

because you will be reminded that you are alive

and your life is holy, sacred, full and overflowing with Love.
